Laura Tompkins and her son, Alex Lewis are excited to work together playing soothing and relaxing classical music, jazz, and pop arrangements for piano and violin. Both of them have careers in music. Alex has played in different jazz bands, recitals, and orchestras, and Laura has played many years in different orchestras. Now they want to combine their skills and share their combined music with the world.
Laura Tompkins and Alex Lewis played their first wedding in December of 2021. From there, Laura wanted to do more of these weddings.

Here is Laura Tompkins’ biography:
Laura has been a private violin instructor and free-lance musician in the greater Houston area since 1990. She taught orchestra in the Pasadena ISD and has performed with and in many venues including Smokey Robinson, Chris Botti, BJ Thomas, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band; the Symphony of Southeast Texas, Opera in the Heights, the Lake Charles, Laredo, Corpus Christi, Victoria, Galveston and Clear Lake Symphonies; as a soloist with the Pasadena Philharmonic and currently with the Houston Civic Symphony.
Here is Alex Lewis’ biography:
Alex Lewis has played music since he was six years old. He has played in many different ensembles and bands and has had fun in each of these cases. He had a strong foundation when entering college. He studied music at San Jacinto college and University of St. Thomas.
Mr. Lewis has played in the Dobie High School marching band and concert band, San Jacinto College Central Jazz Band, Concert Band, Men’s Chorus, Orpheus, and San Jacinto Chamber ensembles and solo recitals. Eventually, Mr. Lewis attended University of St. Thomas. There, he had experience playing in the St. Thomas Jazz Band, Chamber Ensembles, and solo recitals. While studying at University of St. Thomas, he also played with the Rice University Jazz Band.
Alex Lewis taught his first piano lesson when he was in high school. Eventually he found a job with Allegro Music Academy in 2015, The Piano Studio in 2016, and private experience teaching piano lessons. Mr. Lewis’ life has been immersed in music ever since he was young. He enjoys sharing that music.
